SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That there shall be a
|
 
|
treasurer of Dorchester county, who shall be ap-

pointed as hereinafter provided, whose duties shall

be to receive and disburse all moneys levied and
|
 
|
collected for county purposes, according to the order
|
 
|
of the County Commissioners of said county, and
|
 
|
pay over to the Treasurer of Maryland, as herein-
|
 
|
after directed, all moneys levied and collected for

the said State in said county; he shall keep a sepa-

each collector, and shall make and keep a duplieate

of each and every receipt given for all public

moneys received by him; he shall make quarterly

returns of the amount of moneys received by him

monthly returns to the " Comptroller of the Trea-
|
 
|
sury " respectively; he shall also serve and act as
|
 
|
clerk to said County Commissioners, and as such it
|
 
|
shall be his duty to record the proceedings of the
|
 
|
Board of County Commissioners, and to perform all
|
 
|
such other duties as are now or may hereinafter be
|
 
|
prescribed by law for the clerk of said board; he

shall keep the office of said commissioners open

from nine o'clock A. M. until three o'clock P. M.

each week day; he shall have charge of all records,
|
 
|
books, &c., of said commissioners' office, and shall
|
 
|
not allow any of them to be removed or taken from

|
said office except in obedience to a summons or
|
 
|
order of a legally constituted court of this State,
|
 
|
and shall deliver the same to his legally qualified
|
 
|
successor; and before entering upon the duties of
|
 
|
his office the Treasurer of Dorchester county shall
