Chapter 156.

AN ACT to repeal section three of chapter two
|
 
|
hundred and thirty-two of the acts of the General
|
 
|
Assembly, passed at the January session, eighteen
|
 
|
hundred and seventy-eight, entitled " An Act to
|
 
|
authorize the construction and maintenance of a
|
 
|
line of telegraph from the House of Correction
|
 
|
at Jessup's Station, in Anne Arundel county, to
|
 
|
the Police Headquarters in Baltimore city, and
|
 
|
from the State Penitentiary to the Police Head-
|
 
|
quarters in Baltimore city, and to abolish the
|
 
|
office of Superintendent of the Telegraph Line
|
 
|
therein created."

|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
 
|
bly of Maryland, That section three of chapter
|
 
|
two hundred and thirty-two of the acts of the Gen-
|
 
|
eral Assembly, passed at the January session, eigh-
|
 
|
teen hundred and seventy-eight, entitled " An Act to
|
 
|
authorize the construction and maintenance of a
|
 
|
line of telegraph from the House of Correction at
|

Police Headquarters in Baltimore city, and from
|
 
|
the State Penitentiary to the Police Headquarters
|
 
|
in Baltimore city," be and the same is hereby re-
|
 
|
pealed, and the office of Superintendent of the
|
 
|
Telegraph Lines authorized by said act be and the
|
 
|
same is hereby abolished.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said line
|
 
|
of telegraph shall be transferred by the Board of
|
 
|
Public Works to the Mayor and City Council of
|
 
|
Baltimore, who shall keep and maintain the same
|
Telegraph line
|
at their own proper cost and expense, and arc hereby
|
transferred.

invested with all the rights and privileges granted
|
 
|
to telegraph companies under the general incorpora-
|
 
|
tion laws of the State in the working and mainte-
|
 
|
nance of this line.
|
