Chapter 91.

AN ACT to enlarge the powers of the Washington
|
 
|
and Atlantic Railroad Company.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted 'by the General Assem-
|
 
|
bly of Maryland, That in order to enable the Wash-
|
 
|
ington and Atlantic Railroad Company (a corpora-
|
 
|
tion duly incorporated under the laws of this State)
|
 
|
to carry out the purposes for which it was organ-
|
 
|
ized, the said company is hereby authorized and
|
 
|
empowered to cross the tracks of any and all other
railroad companies lying between its termini, and
|

which the line of its road may cross; such crossing

to be either at grade, or over such track or tracks,

by substantial bridging or trestling, or under the

same by substantial tunnels or other proper work or

works for the purpose, as may be determined upon

by the President and Directors of the said Wash-

ing and Atlantic Railroad Company, and if the said
|
 
|
president and directors shall not be able to agree
|
 
|
with any other railroad company whose track or
|
 
|
tracks shall be so crossed as aforesaid, as to the
|
 
|
amount of compensation or damages to be paid for
|
 
|
the easement of any such crossing, then the said
|
 
|

have full power to condemn the said easement of

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said company

shall have full power to have and maintain a ferry

to make and maintain a like connection with the
