Chapter 88.

 

AN ACT supplementary to the act of November

 

session, eighteen hundred and twelve, chapter one

 

hundred and fifty-nine, entitled " An Act for

 

founding an University in the city or precincts of

 

Baltimore, by the name of the University of

 

Maryland," and authorizing the Regents of said

 

University to grant Degrees, Diplomas and Cer-

 

tificates to Students of Dental Surgery, Pharmacy

 

and other cognate branches of Medical Science in

 

said University.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

 

bly of Maryland, That the Regents of the Univer-

 

sity of Maryland be and they are hereby authorized

to admit to the degree of Doctor or Licentiate of

Dental Surgery, Pharmacy or any other cognate

 

branch or department of Medical Science, any of the

 

students of the said University who, after having pas-

 

sed through such course of study and such examina-

 

tion as shall have been prescribed therefor by the

 

Faculty of Physic of the same, shall be recommended

 

by said Faculty to said Regents as meriting such de-

 

gree; and the said Regents shall have power to

to the same effect prescribed and authorized by the

 

thirteenth section of the act to which this is a sup-

 

plement as to other degrees.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the degree of

first section of this act shall not be conferred upon
