Chapter 81.

 

AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of Easton

 

to borrow a sum of money for the payment of a

 

certain debt due by said Commissioners and here-

 

tofore contracted to meet the necessary expenses

 

of the town of Easton, to issue bonds for the pay-

 

ment of the same, and to levy and collect taxes

 

for the redemption of said bonds and the payment

 

of interest accruing thereon.

 

WHEREAS the Commissioners of Easton, the mu-

 

nicipal corporation created by the laws of the State,

 

is indebted in the sum of ten thousand dollars, here-

 

tofore contracted on account of sundry necessary

expenses of said corporation over and above its an-

 

nual revenues; and whereas the annual revenues

 

derived from taxes now authorized to be levied on

 

the taxable property within the limits of said cor-

 

poration, after discharging the current expenses of

 

said corporation, are wholly insufficient for the pay-

 

ment of the said indebtedness or any part thereof —

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

 

bly of Maryland, That for the purpose of paying

sioners of Easton, duly elected and qualified in ac-

ized and empowered to borrow, from time to time,

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Com-

 

missioners of Easton, duly elected and qualified as

 

aforesaid, be and they are hereby further authorized
