Chapter 73.

AN ACT to confirm, explain and enlarge the pow-
|
 
|
ers and privileges granted to the St. Mary's
|
 
|
Industrial School for Boys, of the city of Balti-
|
 
|
more, by the Acts of the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven,
|
 
|
chapter four hundred and two, and eighteen
|
 
|
hundred and seventy-four, chapter two hundred
|
 
|
and eighty-eight.
|
 
|
WHEREAS by Acts of the General Assembly of
|
Preamble.
|
Maryland, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, chap-
|
 
|
ter four hundred and two, and eighteen hundred
|
 
|
and seventy-four, chapter two hundred and eighty-
|
 
|
eight, the General Assembly intended to enlarge
|
 
|
and confirm the corporate powers and authority of
|
 
|
the St. Mary's Industrial School for Boys, of the
|
 
|
city of Baltimore, incorporated under the provisions
|
 
|
of the twenty-sixth article of the Code of Public
|
 
|
General Laws of the State of Maryland, and inas-
|
 
|
much as doubts have arisen as to the meaning and
|
 
|
sufficiency of parts of said acts for the purposes in-
|
 
|
tended, therefore —
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assem-
|
 
|
bly of Maryland, That all and singular the powers,
|
 
|
privileges and franchises granted to or intended to
|

be conferred on the St Mary's Industrial School for

Boys, of the city of Baltimore, by the Acts of the
|
 
|
General Assembly of Maryland, eighteen hundred
|
 
|
and sixty-seven, chapter four hundred and two, and
|
 
|
eighteen hundred and seventy-four, chapter two
|
 
|
hundred and eighty-eight, be and the same are
|
 
|
hereby ratified and confirmed.
|
 
|
SEC. 2 And be it enacted, That in addition to
|

the classes of minors who may by existing laws be

committed to said St. Mary's Industrial School for
|
commit.
|
Boys, of the city of Baltimore, any justice of the
|
 
|
peace of this State may commit to the care of said
|
 
|
corporation every such white male minor as on
|
 
|
complaint of any parent, guardian or next friend,
|
 
|
in whose custody such minor may be, and on proof
|
 
|
taken before such justice, be adjudged by such jus-
|
 
|
tice to be a proper subject for commitment to said
|
