1876.] OF THE SENATE. 967

Mr. Aydelotte, from the Committee on Education, re-
ported,

House bill in relation to public education, with the follow-
ing endorsement:

"This bill coming to the Committee on Education in the
afternoon of the last day of the Session, the Committee find
it to be impossible to give that attention due so important
a change in our present State School Law, as therein pro-
posed.

"Therefore, it is reported back to the Senate, with recom-
mendation that the bill be indefinitely postponed."

Which was adopted.

The unfinished business being again taken up,
Mr. Bannon moved to adjourn.

Which was decided in the negative by yeas and nays as
follows:

AFFIEMATIVE.

Aydelotte, Getty,
Bannon, Hepbron,
Dennis, McCulloh—8.

NEGATIVE.
Messrs. Brewer, Lloyd,

At 6.20 P. M.,

Mr. Bannon moved a call of the Senate,
The Sergeant-at-Arms was directed to inform the absent
Senators their presence was required in the Senate Chamber.

At 6.25 P. M.

On motion by Mr. Joyce,

Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.
Mr. Bannon moved to adjourn.

Which was decided in the negative by yeas and nays as
follows :
