966 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Apl. 3,

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

April 3rd, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message declining to recede from
certain amendments proposed by your Honorable Body, to
House bill No. 65, and asking the appointment of a Commit-
tee of Conference thereon.

We have named on the part of the House, Messrs. Robin-
son, Rinehart and Onley.

By order,

MILTON Y. KIDD,

Chief Clerk.
Which was read.
Also, delivered,

House Joint Resolutions in reference to the Southern Mary-
land Railroad Company.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

On motion by Mr. Lloyd, it was

Ordered, That if the Senate be convened in extra Session
by the Governor, to confirm the appointments required to be
made under the assessment bill, passed at the present Ses-
sion of the Legislature, the Secretary of the Senate, Rending
Clerk, Journal Clerk, Sergeant-at-Arms and the Doorkeeper,
shall be the only officers of the Senate required to attend said
extra Session, and no per diem, mileage or other compensa-
tion, whatsoever, be allowed any other officer of the Senate,
and that the Chairman of the Committee on Claims, and the
Clerk of said Committee be requested to attend.

Mr. Lloyd submitted the following message :

BY THE SENATE,

April 3rd, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
that the two Houses of the General Assembly adjourn sine
die, at 12 o'clock, midnight, the 3rd inst.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.
