On motion by Mr. Hepbron, it was

Ordered, That the thanks of the Senate be, and they [are
hereby, tendered to its President, the Honorable Daniel
Fields, of Caroline county, for the prompt and efficient man-
ner in which he has discharged the arduous and responsible
duties of his office, and for the general spirit of impartiality
and urbanity that has pervaded his decisions during his occu-
pancy of the Chair.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

April 3rd, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message, proposing the appoint-
ment of a Joint Committee of three on the part of the House,
to wait on his Excellency, the Governor, and inform him that
the two Houses propose adjourning on this Monday Night, at
12 o'clock, and ask him if he has any communication to make,
and concur therein.

We have appointed on the part of the House Messrs.
Waters, of Carroll, Gill and Lankford.

Chief Clerk.
Which was read.
Also, the following message :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

April 3rd, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate;

We respectfully inform your Honorable Body, that we have
non-concurred in Senate amendments to House printed bill
No. 65, and respectfully request that you will recede there-
from .
