On motion by Mr. Gorman,

The vote by which said bill failed to receive a Constitu-
tional majority,

Was reconsidered.

On motion by Mr. Gorman,
The Senate at 3 P. M., took a recess for 1 hour.

AFTERNOON SESSION

SATURDAY, April 1st, 1876.

The Senate met at 4 o'clock, P. M.

Present at the roll call the following Senators:

Messrs. President, Biinnon, Freeman, Ford, Getty,
Gorman, Hepbron, Humphreys, Knight, Lee, McCulluh,
Newcomer, Stevens, Steiner, Walsh—15.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following bills:

House bill entitled an Act in relation to mendicant and
vagrant children.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal the 12th and 13th Sec-
tions of Article 75, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Pleading, Prac!ice and Process," sub-title "Plead-
ings," and to re-enact the same with amendments

Which were read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

House bill entitled an Act to add additional Sections to
Article 11, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Frederick
County," sub-title "County Commissioners," to be known as
Section 45, A.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Stei-
ner, Mudd and Humphreys.

House bill entitled an Act. to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Queen Anne's county, to pay a sum of money
not exceeding $3,000, to erect a bridge over Wye river in
said county,

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Ford,
Getty and Lawrence.

House bill entitled an additional supplement to an Act en-
titled an Act to incorporate the Trustees of the Powhatan
Baptist Church at Black Rock in Baltimore county.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.
