The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and
delivered,

House Joint Resolutions in relations to the Annapolis and
Elk Ridge Railroad.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

The Hon. R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, appeared
and delivered a communication from the Executive.

Mr. Gorman, from Committee on Finance, reported fa-
vorably,

House bill entitled an Act for the benefit of Lawson Rid-
dle, Nicholas Harding and Hazel Hobbs, of Howard county.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Gorman, from Select Committee, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act authorizing and directing the
administrators of James Stratton, late of Howard county, to
pay over the surplus of the estate of the said deceased to the
Board of county School Comrnissionsers of Howard county,
unless legal representatives shall appear.

Which was read the second time,

Mr. Walsh, from Select Committee, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 30 and 67, of
Article 81, of the Code of Public General Laws, so far at
the same relates to Harford county, and to enact the follow-
ing lieu thereof, to apply to Harford county.

Which was read the second time.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Article 78, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Refuge, House of," and
to re-enact the same with amendments,

Was read the third time and rejected for want of a Con-
stitutional majority by yeas and nays as follows :
