Interrogatory by Mr. Lee. Has the President of your bank
made any contract with the Treasurer of the State, looking to
the payment of any interest or bonus on the money deposited
by him in yonr bank, or could the payment of any such in-
terest or bonus be made without your knowledge ?

Answer. No.

First interrogatory propounded to J. Harris Forbes. Please
state yonr name and occupation ?

Answer. J. Harris Forbes ; am Cashier of the Citizens'
Bank of Annapolis.

The second and third interrogatories propounded to Mr.
Sloan, propounded to this witness, and same answers given.

Interrogatory by Mr. Compton. Have I any interest what-
ever as stockholder, or in any capacity except as Treasurer
of the State, depositing from time to time monies of the
State in your bank, any connection therewith or interest
therein ?

Answer. No.

Interrogatory by Mr. Farrow. Does the bank pay any in-
terest on monies deposited therein ?.

Answer. No.

1st interrogatory propounded to Lonis G. Gassaway. Please
state your name and occupation ?

Answer. Louis G. Gassaway ; am Cashier of the Farmers'
National Bank of Annapolis.

The second and third interrogatories propounded to Mr.
Sloan, propounded so this witness, and same answers given.

Same interrogatories propounded by Mr. Compton and Mr.
Farrow to Mr. Forbes, propounded by them to this witness,
and same answers given.

Upon which your Committee unanimously beg leave re-
spectfully to report, that they do not find that the said Treas-
urer has received from any of said banks, any consideration,
compensation, bonus, dividend or interest upon the monies
of the State deposited therein.

The testimony of the Cashiers of the several banks being
clear and conclusive, they have determined to rest the inves-
tigation thereon, not deeming any further prosecution of the
inquiry at all necessary.
