Mr. Phelps, from Select Committe, (by unanimous consent,)
reported unfavorably,

The memorial of the Trustees of the Johns Hopkins Uni-
versity, praying exemption from taxation.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Cooper submitted the following message :

BY THE SENATE,

March 29th, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We respectfully ask your Honorable Body to return to the
Senate for further consideration, the House bill entitled an
Act to allow I. R. Trimble to build a pier on Light street,
in Baltimore city, returned to your Honorable Body on the
27th March, inst., endorsed : "Passed by yeas and nays."

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

Mr. Hepbron, from Select Committee, (by unanimous con-
sent,) reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction of the
General Assembly, to the bequests of Henrietta M. Bruff,
late of Kent comity, deceased, to the vestry of St. Paul's
Prostestant Episcopal Church at Chestertown.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Bannon, from Select Committee, (by unanimous con-
sent,) reported iavorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Farmers'
National Bank of Annapolis, to pay over to the heirs of Sam-
uel Gover, certain funds in eaid bank due the said Samuel
Gover's real estate.

Which was read the first time, and
On motion by Mr. Bannon,

Was referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Phelps, from Select Committee, (by unanimous con-
sent,) reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to protect oysters in the waters
of Dorchester county, and to prohibit the taking thereof in
the month of June, July and August of each year.

With the following proposed amendment.

Insert at end of Sec. 2, "Provided, nothing in the two pre-
ceding Sections of this Act; or any part thereof shall apply
to catching oysters in either the Great or Little Choptank
rivers, or their tributaries in Dorchester county.

Which was adopted.
