Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have received the message of your Honorable Body, in-
forming us of your non-concurrence in sundry amendments
in the Assessment i ill made by this House, and asking this
House to recede from the same.

This House respectfully informs your Honorable Body, that
it adheres to the said amendments, and asks your Honorable
Body to appoint a Committee of Conference.

We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs,
dark, Robinson and Koons.

Mr. Gorman submitted the following message

BY THE SENATE,

March 28, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message asking the appointment of
a Committee on Conlerence on the disagreeing votes of the
two Houses on the Assessment bill, and respectfully concur
therein.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs.
Lloyd, Gorman and Aydelotte.

Mr. Lloyd, from the Committee on Finance, (by unani-
mous consent) submitted the following

REPORT.

Your Committee report the resolutions and bills passed by
the House of Delegates, in relation to the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad Company.

In making this report, it is proper to add for the informa-
tion of the Senate, that your Committee has learned to-day,
that the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad is willing to adjust so
much of its present controversy with the State, as relates to
the Washington Branch Railroad of said Company, upon
the following basis:

The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company to be charged
with the full amount of the State's proportion of the moneys
