House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re enact with
amendments, Sec, 5 of Art. 93, of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, as amended an re-enacted by ch. 155 of the Acts
of 1874.

Which was adopted.

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and returned

Senate Joint Resolutions in relation to the improvement of
the navigation of the Upper Potomac, Eastern Branch and
Patapsco river,

Endorsed : "Passed by yeas and nayss."

Also, returned,

Senate bill entitled an Act to prevent stock from rnnning
at large in Baltimore county, within 15 miles of Baltimore
city,

Endorsed : "Passed by yeas and nays."

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Uniontown
and Linwood Turnpike Company of Carroll county,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:

House bill entitled an Act to legalize the Revised Code of
Public General and Public Local Laws of Maryland, pre-
pared by Lewis Mayer, Louis c. Fischer and B. J. D,
Cross,

Being upon its third reading,

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

"Provided, however, that the said compilation shall be
submitted for examination to three members of the bar of the
Court of Appeals, who shall be appointed by the Governor,
and who shall each receive the sum of five hundred dollars
for their services; and provided, further, that before the sum
