On motion by Mr. Stevens,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Sec. 3 of chap. 373 of
the Acts of 1867, relating to stenographer in Orphan's Court
of Baltimore city, and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Which was received from the House of Delegates with a
message,

Was recommitted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings.

Mr. Phelps, from Select Committee, reported unfavorably,
House bill entitled an Act to provide for maintaining and
keeping in repair the public roads in Dorchester county.
Which was adopted.

Mr. Walsh, from Select Committee, reported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact Sec. 60,
and add Sub-Sections to chap. 159 of the Acts of 1868, rela-
ting to the town of Havre-de-Grace in Harford county.
Which was read the second time.

Mr. Gorman, from Select Committee, reported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments, Sec. 6 of ch. 79, of the Acts of 1874, entitled
an Act for the protection of black bass and other fish in the
Patapsco river above tide-water.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Lloyd, (by unanimous consent,) presented the memo-
rial of Sam'1 Hambleton, E. L. F. Hardcastle and 50 others,
citizens of Talbot county, praying the passage of a law to
open the waters lying between Queen Anne's and Talbot

counties, to the Oyster tongsmen in common.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

On motion by Mr. Walsh,

The rules were suspended so as to take up the following
bills:

First. House bill entitled-an Act to authorize the County

Commissioners of Harford county, in their discretion, to issue
bonds, the proceeds of which to be used for the purpose of

-paying the debt now due by the Board of County School
Commissioners of said county.

Which was read the third time and passed by yeas and

nays as follows:
