House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments, See. 5 of Art. 93, of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, as amended and re-enacted by ch. 155 of the Acts
of 1874.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments, Section 6 of ch. 79, of the Acts of 1874, enti-
tled an Act for the protection of black bass, and all other
fish in the Patapsco river, above tide-water.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Gor-
man. Lee and Freeman.

House bill entitled an Act granting to certain soldiers and
widows of soldiers of the war of 1812, a pension of eighty
dollars per annum, to be paid in quarterly instalments.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Pensions.

Also, returned,

Senate bill entitled an Act to prevent stock running at
large in Baltimore county, within fifteen miles of Baltimore
city.

Fndorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ments."

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend Section 2, "by extending the distance 18 miles in
the 4th election district."

Strike out entire bill aud insert in lieu thereof—

"A bill entitled an Act to prevent stock running at large
in Baltimere county, within five miles from Baltimore city."

"Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall not be lawful for stock of any kind to go-
at large, and without attendants, within the distance of five
miles from the limits of Baltimore city."

"Section 2 And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful for
any person, and shall be the duty of the constables and the
police force of Baltimore county, to take up and impound
any horse, mule, horned cattle, goats or swine, which may
be found going at large, and without attendants, within the
said described limits, and any constable or other person so
taking up and impounding, shall notify a Justice of the
Peace resident within said limits, who shall give notice of
said impounding by advertisement at one or more public
places within the same limits, describing the stock so im-
pounded, and that the same will be sold at public auction at
some public place within said limits, within ten days; pro-
vided, that if the owner of any stock impounded under this
