NEGATIVE—None.

Said bill was then read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Gorman, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 1 to 13, both
inclusive, of Article 44, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Maryland Hospital," and to enact in lien thereof the
following to be arranged as Sections of said Article of the
Code, with the following proposed amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 4, line 1, after the word "appoint" insert "a person
who shall act as."

Section 4, line 1, after "Superintendent," insert "and
Treasurer.''

Section 4, line 5, strike out the words "upon the nomina-
tion of the Superintendent."

Section 4, line 2, after the word "Physician," strike out
"and a "Treasurer."

Section 8, line 5, after the word "Treasurer," insert
"which shall show all receipts and expenditures in detail
and the name of every officer and employee and the compen-
sation of each."

Section 11, line 1, after word "the," strike out "Com-
missioners," and insert "Judges of the Circuit Court."

Same line after the word "the," strike out down to word
"are," in 2d line and insert "Criminal Court of Baltimore
city in accordance with the provisions of the Code."

Section 11, line 4, after word "which," strike out "they,"
and insert "the respective counties and City of Baltimore."

Section 11, line 5, after word "aforegoing," strike out all
to the end of Section.

Which were abopted.

Mr. Bannon submitted the following amendment:

Amend Sec. 12, by striking out all of said Sec. and insert,
"12. The Commissioners of any county, may in their discre-
tion, remove from the alms house and county jail, any luna-
tic pauper, to be sent to the Maryland Hospital, and shall
levy in the county such a sum as will defray the expenses
incident to the removal of such Lunatic, and the expenses
