the county in which the appeal was taken; and it shall be
the duty of the State's Attorney of the several counties, and
of the counsel of the Officers of Registration of Baltimore
City, as hereinafter provided, to appear on behalf of the Of-
ficers of Registration, and against the appellant at the hear-
ing of all appeals from the decision of Officers of Registration
within their respective counties and Baltimore City, as the
case may be.
Section 7. And be it enacted, That immediately after the
expiration of the days in which said officers of Registration
shall have sat for such corrections of the registry lists, com-
mencing on the first Monday in September, they shall pro-
ceed wit out delay to make or cause to be made, two alpha-
betical lists, one of which lists shall comprise the names of
those registered persons which said officers have stricken from
the lists of qualified voters, and from the books of registra-
tion delivered to said officers by said Clerks of Courts, and
the other one of which lists shall comprise the names of the
persons which said officers have registration just made, and
also the names of those persons whom the Judge of a Court
to whom an appeal from the decision of said Officers of Regis-
tration has been taken, has decided to be entitled to be regis-
tered, and said Officers of Registratioc shall cause said lists
to be published by handbills posted in such public pieces as
they may elect in the several precincts of Baltimore City, and
said Election Districts in the counties, und one third of the
handbills so posted in Baltimore City shall be printed in the
German language.
Section 8. And be it enacted, That for the purpose of revis-
ing said books of registration and said lists as made and pub-
lished by said Officers of Registration, they shall for three
successive days in the City of Baltimore, and two successive
days in the several counties of the State, commencing on the
first Monday in October, 1876, and on the same days respec-
tively in every year thereafter, at some place in their respec-
tive precincts and districts, convenient to the voters thereof,
sit with open doors from 9 o'clock, A. M , until 7 o'clock,
P. M., in Baltimore city, and from 7 o'clock, A. M., until 6
o'clock, P. M., in the counties, and the respective Officers of
Registiation shall give at least three days notice, by a notice
signed by them respectively, of the time and place of sitting
in said precincts and districts by publication in three news-
papers published in Baltimore city, one of which shall be
printed in the German language, and in one newspaper in
each county in which a newspaper is published, and also by
handbills posted at such public places as said officers shall se-
lect in said precincts and districts.
