Mr. Getty moved to suspend the rules so as to take up
Senate bill entitled an act regulating the working and
proper ventilation of coal mines in Allegany and Girrett
counties, and providing for the appointment of an Inspector
for said mines.

Annapolis, March 17th, 1876
Gentlemen of the Senate:
I have the honor of informing you, that I have approved
and signed the following Acts, which originated in the
Senate :
No. 70. An Act to provide for the payment of the counsel
employed to represent the State in the arbitration between
Maryland and Virginia, upon the boundary between the said
States, and to appropriate a sum of money therefor, and for
the other expenses of the said arbitration.
No. 80, An Act to amend the Act passed at this present
Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, entitled an
Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments, an Act of the
General Assembly of Maiyland, passed at the January Ses-
sion, in the year eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, chapter
334, approved March 30th, 1868, entitled an Act supplemen-
tary und amendatory of an Act passed at the present Session
of the General Assembly of Maryland, entitled an Act to
amend the charter of the Cumberland and Pennsylvania.
