Mr. Stevens presented the resolutions of the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore, requesting the General Assembly
to pass an Act providing for a new assessment of property in
the City of Baltimore.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore City Sena-
tors.

Also by Mr. Stevens,

Resolutions of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore,
requesting the passage of an Act regulating the Inspection
of Coal Oil sold in the City of Baltimore.

Which were read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings,

Mr. Aydelotte gave notice that on to-morrow, he would
move to suspend the Sixtieth Rule of the Senate.

On motion by Mr. Hepbron, it was

Ordered, That the officers of the Senate severally receive
the same amount of postage stamps as received at last Session.

On motion by Mr. Lloyd, it was

Ordered, That the Committee on Public Buildings is here-
by directed to enquire and report what additions or repairs
are necessary for the Executive mansion, and the furnit are
therein.

On motion by Mr. Cooper, it was

Ordered, That Senator Duke have leave of absence until
Thursday, the 27th of January, to enable him to take testi -
mony in the contested election case of Wilson vs. Duke.

On motion by Mr. Humphreys,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Library to re-
port a bill to furnish Wicomico county with the Maryland
Reports previous to 1868.

On motion by Mr. Cooper,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries, to introduce a bill to repeal and re-
enact with amendments, chapter two hundred and twenty-
one of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of the
Session of 1874, so that there shall be apointed by the Gov-
ernor, a General Measurer of Oysters, who shall pay for his
license, and shall have authority to appoint deputies, wbo
shall receive sixty cents per hundred bushals, to be paid
equally by buyer and seller ; also to so change the law that
the iron measures shall have solid bottoms.
