Was read the third time and rejected, for want of a Consti-
tutional majority, by yeas and nays as follows:

On motion by Mr. Suit,
The Senate, at 3 P. M., adjourned.

TUESDAY, March 14th, 1876.

Senate met at 11 A. M.

Prayer by Rev. Mr. Canter.

Present at roll call the following Senators:

Messrs. President, Bannon, Brewer, Duke, Dsnnis, Free-
man, Ford, Getty, Gorman, Hepbron, Humphreys, Joyce,
Knight, Lee, Lawrence, Lloyd, McCulloh, Mudd, Phelps,
Stevens, Steiaer, Suit, Walsh—23.

Proceedings of yesterday read and approved.
On motion by Mr. Brewer, the vote by which

Senate bill entitled an Act to extend the jurisdiction of
Justices of the Peace to cases of petty larceny,

Was heretofore ordered to be engrossed for a third reading,

Was reconsidered, when,

Mr. Brewer submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Insert "Montgomery county."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Suit submitted the followimg amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Insert "Prince Geerge's county."

Which was adopted.
