Also.

Leave was granted the Baltimore City Senators, to intro-
duce a bill entitled on Act to regulate the speed of vehicles
and equestrians on the approaches to Druid Hill Park from
North Avenue.

On motion by Mr. Lloyd,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Lloyd, Walsh and Lee, to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower
the Governor to appoint an additional Justice of the Peace
in Easton District, in Talbot county.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

The vote by which the message to the House of Delegates,
in regard to the appointment of a "Joint Committee of the
two Houses, on the Centennial," was adopted,

Was reconsidered,

When Mr. Stevens withdrew the original message and
submitted the following:

BY THE SENATE,

January 18, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
the appointment by the President of the Senate, and the
Speaker of the House of Delegates, of a Joint Committee,
consisting of seven members upon the part of the Senate, and
seven upon the part of the House of Delegates, to be consti-
tuted a "Committee on the Centennial," to whom shall be re-
ferred for consideration, all matters appertaining to the par-
ticipation by the State in the celebration of the One Hund-
redth Anniversary of American Independence; which Com-
mittee shall have leave to report by bill or otherwise.

The President has appointed on the part of the Senate,
Messrs. Stevens, Dennis. Walsh, Cooper, Ford, Suit and
Steiner.
