Mr. Humphreys submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 5, line 19, insert at the end of Section. "The three
Assessors shall have the right to appoint a Clerk, who shall
receive for each day of actual service as such Clerk the sum
of three dollars per day, snd who shall be subject to removal
at the pleasure of said Board.''

Section 6, line 1, strike out the word "Governor," and in-
sert "the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore city," and in-
sert for the counties, "that the Commissioners of said county
shall appoint the assessors for said assessment."

Mr. Dennis submitted the following amendment to the
amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 6, line 1, after the word "State," insert "by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate,"
Pending the consideration of the amendments.

On motion by Mr. Gorman,

The present consideration of said amendments was dis-
pensed with.
Mr. Steiner submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section C, line 1, strike out sentence beginning with,
"That the Governor, and," and insert "the Board of County
Commissioners for each county, shall be a Board of Control
and Review for said county."
