the Tuesday next after the 1st Monday," before the words
"in November," so as to read, "on the day of the election to
be held, on the Tuesday next after the 1st Monday in No-
vember, &c."

In sub-section 4, strike out all after the word "sale" and
insert, "of cider, beer, or home-made wines, nor to the sale
of liquors when prescribed as a medicine by the prescription
of some practising physician or for mechanical purposes."

Add to the last sub-section, ' 'and the Comptroller of the
Treasury shall refund to the holder or holders of said license,
the proper proportion of money for the residue of the year
said license has to run, from said 1st of January, 1877."

Which were adopted.

Said bill as amended was then read the second time.

Mr. Dennis, from the Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments Section 10, of an Act to incorporate the Mutual
Fire Insurance Company of Somerset and Worcester counties,
passed March 13th, 1870.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Phelps, from the Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to regulate the catching of fish
in the Choptank river and its tributaries.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. German, from the Select Committee, reported favor-

ably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 17, of Article

13, ol the Public Local Laws of Howard county, and re-enact
the same with amendments,

Which was read the second time.

Senate bill entitled an Act to pay and compensate D. James
Blakiston, for services in the United States Courts in, defence
of Officers of Registration, presented therein for violation, as
alleged, of the Act of Congress, entitled "An Act to enforce
the right of citizens of the United States to vote in the several
States of the Union and for other purposes,"

Wag read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading, by yeas and nays as follows:
