326 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 29,

The hour of 1 o'clock having arrived, the President an-
nounced the ortter of the day to be

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 37, 38, 39
and 40, of Article 56, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Licenses," and to re-enact the same with amendments
and to change the sub-title for said Sections,

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Gorman moved that said bill li« over to be made the
order of the day for Thursday, March 2d, at 1 o'clock.

Mr. Joyce moved to amend the motion, so as to refer said
bill to the Senators from Baltimore city, Anne Arundel, Bal-
timore and Howard counties.

Which was rejected.

The question recurring upon the motion of Mr. Gorman,

It was adopted.

Hon. R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, appeared and de-
livered a message from the Executive.

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Board of Coun-
ty School Commissioners of Worcester county to appropriate
money out of the Free School Fund of said county, towards
building school-ho uses, and for other purposes,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 2, of chapter
99, of the Acts of 1874, and to re-enact the same with
amendments,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 1, of chapter
206, of the Acts ol 1868, entitled an Act to authorize the
County Commissioners of Queen Anne's county, to levy a
sum of money or issue beads for repairing and altering the
Court-house in said county, and to re-enact the same with
amendments,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill giving the sanction of the General Assembly
of Maryland to the sale and conveyance of land from Joseph
Coudon and Caroline Coudon, his wife, to the vestry of St.
Mary Anne's, or North Elk Parish, in Cecil county,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the appointment
of a Collector and Treasurer, and a more for economical collec-
tion of taxes in Dorchester county, and td repeal Sections
