Security and Land Company of Baltimore city, by enlarging
the powers and reducing the par value of its shares of stock.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Potomac Bridge
Company, to borrow money, and issue bonds therefor.
On motion by Mr. Ford,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Purchasers of the Queen
Anne's and Kent County Railroad Company.

On motion by Mr. Duke,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Duke, Newcomer and Free-
man, to introduce a bill entitled an Act to empower the
Clerk of the County Commissioners for Calvert and Wash-
ington counties, to administer an oath cr affirmation to any
person presenting a claim to the Commissioners of said coun-
ties against the county.

On motion by Mr. Blndd,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled an Act to enable Francis L.
McDonald and Mary Jay Frankland, of England, to take
and hold certain lands lying in Charles county, Maryland,
which were held by Frederick Dawson, late of said State, in
trust for certain parties named in said Act.

Mr. Lloyd, from the Committee on Finance, reported un-
favorably.

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to put in repair the National Road from Cumberland west to
Pennsylvania line.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Lloyd, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the payment of
the counsel employed to represent the State in the arbitra-
tion between Maryland and Virginia upon the Boundary
Line between the said States, and to appropriate a sum of
money therefor, and for other expenses of said arbitration.

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Suit moved to recommit said bill to the Committee on
Finance.

Which was decided in the negative by yeas and nays as
follows :
