Senate bill giving the sanction of the General Assembly
of Maryland, to the sale and conveyance of land from Joseph
Condon and Caroline Condon, his wife, to the vestry of St.
Mary's Anne's, or North Elk Parish in Cecil county.

Which was read the first time.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following message.

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

February 25th, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

It is currently reported, that a witness in attendance on
the Joint Committee, under Section 24, Article 3, of the

Constitution has been during such attendance assaulted.

We, therefore, ask the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
in an instruction to said Committee, to enquire into the cir-
cumstances, and report the same to the several Houses of the
General Assembly, and whether the same amount to a breach

of the privileges of the General Assembly.

Which was read.
Mr. Walsh submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

February 28, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

Your message in reference to an alleged assault upon a
witness in attendance on the Joint Standing Committee under
Section 24, of Article 3, of the Constitution was received,
but the action of your Honorable Body was anticipated by
the adoption of a resolution offered by the Honorable Senator
from Queen Anne's county, in reference to the subject of the
message, by referring it to the consideration of the said Joint
Standing Committee above mentioned.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

Senate bill entitled an Act authorizing the Commissioners
of Salisbury, Wicomico county, to purchase and hold a piece
of ground to build a Market-house thereon, and to pass or-
dinances regulating the buying, selling or huckstering on the
streets of said town,
