290 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 24,

On motion by Mr. Stevens,
The rules were suspended so as to take up

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Consumers'
Mutual Gaslight Company of Baltimore city.

Which was read the third time and passed by yeas and
nays, as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE,

Messrs. President, Joyce,
Brewer, Lee,
Cooper, Lloyd,
Dennis, McCulloh,
Freeman, Newcomer,
Gorman, Stevens,
Hepbron, Steiner—15.
Humphreys,

NEGATIVE—None.
Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

On motion by Mr. Gorman,
The Senate, at 3 P. M., adjourned.

FRIDAY, February 25th, 1876.

Senate met at 11 A. M.

Prayer by the Rev Mr. Amos.

Present at roll call, the following Senators:

Messrs. President, Aydelotte, Bannon, Brewer, Cooper,
Duke, Dennis, Freeman, Ford, Getty, Gorman, Hepbron,
Humphreys, Joyce, Knight, Lee, Lawrence, Lloyd, Mc-
Culloh, Mudd, Newcomer, Phelps, Stevens, Steiner, Suit,
Walsh—26.

Proceedings of yesterday read and approved.

Mr. Brewer presented the memorial of certain citizens of
the. Second Election District in St Mary's county, praying

for a division of the same.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Lawrence, Brewer
and Ford.

Mr. Phelps presented the memorial of certain citizens of
Dorchester county, praying an appropriation for the estab-
lishment of a Female High School, in the Town of Vienna.
