Commissioners by the Governor, to serve until the next gen-
eral election,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an act to refund taxes on oyster house
licenses to Hugh B. Valliant and F. T. Avalier, of Talbot
county, erroneously paid to the State,

Was read the second time and ordered to he engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to prescribe the number of names
to be selected and placed in the box from which a panel of
jurors shall be drawn for Garrett county,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to preserve and define the har-
bor of Salisbury, and the channel of Wicomico river, in Wi-
comico county.

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Humphreys submitted the following amendment:

Fill the blank in first Section with the following names,
"George W. Parsons, Wm. S. Gordy and Thomas Hum-
phreys."

Which was adopted.

Said bill as amended, was then read the second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered

Senate Joint Resolutions and report of the Joint Commit-
tee appointed to prepare a suitable testimonial to the memory
of the late Hon. Reverdy Johnson,

Endorsed : "Passed by yeas and nays."

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 30 of the Code
of Public General Laws, by inserting therein certain Sections
for the preventing of cruelty to animals.

Being upon its second reading,

The following amendments were submitted :

By Mr. Bannon,

Section 37, G, line'18, insert "Clerks of the Circuit Courts
for their respective counties, and the Clerk of the Superior
Court of Baltimore city."
