Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Suit submitted the following amendment:
Section 7, line I, after the word "dollars" insert "in ac-
tual cash."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Suit submitted the following amendment:

Section 9, line 5, strike out the words "a majority." and
insert the words "three-fourths of all."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Suit moved to postpone the further consideration of
said bill.

Which was determined in the negative.

Mr. Gorman, submitted the following amendment:

Section 16, line 7, strike out all after the word "corpora-
tion."

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,
The rules were suspended, so as to take up
House bill entitled a further supplement to an Act passed
at December Session, 1825, entitled an Act to incorporate
the President and Directors of the Firemen's Insurance Com-
pany of Baltimore, and the several supplements thereto.

Said bill was then read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays, as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Joyce,
Aydelotte, Lee,
Brewer, Lawrence,
Duke, Lloyd,
Dennis, Newcomer,
Freeman, Stevens,
Ford, Steiner—15.
Gorman,

NEGATIVE—None.

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the proper repre-
sentation of the btate of Maryland, at the celebration of the
one-hundredth anniversary of American Independence,

Being upon its third reading.
On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Was ordered to lie over and be made the order of the day
for Tuesday, February 15th, at 1 o'clock.
