Mr. Lloyd, from the Committee on Finance, reported un-
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the investment of
money in the State Treasury, to be applied for purposes of
internal improvement in Calvert county.

Mr. Duke move to substitute said bill for the unfavorable
report.

Which was decided in the negative.

The question recurring upon the adoption of the report.

It was adopted.

Mr. Bannon, from the Select Committee, reported favora-
bly.

Senate bill entitled an Act to establish a free Bridge over
the Patapsco River, between Baltimore city, and Anne Arun-
del county, at or near the present site of Light Street Bridge.

Which was read the first time, and
On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Was ordered to be printed, and recommitted to the Select
Committee.

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay William R. Thompson, of Anne Arundel county,
for services rendered in the war of 1812, and to place his
name on the pension roll.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Pensions.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 7, of an Act
entitled an Act to add certain Sections, relating to the Super-
for Court of Baltimore city, aad the Court of Common Pleas
in Baltimore city, to the 4th Article of the Public Local
Laws, regulating the return of process, and the taking of
judgments in said Courts, passed at the General Assembly of
Maryland, at the January Session 1864, chap. 6, and to re-
enact the same with amendments.

Being upon its second reading,
On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Was laid over in order to be printed.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 167, of Art.
4, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore city, title
"Courts," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Being upon its second reading,
On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Was recommitted to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

The Honorable R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, appear-
ed, and delivered a communication from the Executive,
