At 2.40 P. M., the Senate resumed the consideration of
Legislative business.

Mr. Walsh, (by unanimous consent,) presented the memo-
rial of S. N. Hyde, and 25 others, citizens of Harford coun-
ty, praying the passage of an Act to prevent the citizens of
other States from fishing with stake or drift nets, in the
waters of said County.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
On motion by Mr. Suit,

The Senate, at 2.45 P. M., adjourned.

WEDNESDAY, February 9th, 1876.

Senate met at 12 M.

Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Amos.

Present at roll call the following Senators:

Messrs. President, Aydelotte, Bannon, Brewer, Cooper,
Duke. Freeman, Ford,Getty, Gorman, Hepbron, Humphreys,
Joyce, Knight, Lee, Lawrence, Lloyd, McCulloh, Newcomer,
Phelps, Stevens, Steiner, Suit, Walsh—24.

Proceedings of yesterday read and approved.

Mr. McCulloh presented the memorial of L. M. Gorsuch,
praying the passage of an Act equalizing tolls over the Cum-
berland and Pennsylvania Railroad.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings.

Mr. Lloyd presented the memorial of Caleb Griffin, and
200 others, citizens of Talbot county, adverse to changing the
existing laws in relation to fish in the waters of said county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Lloyd, Phelps and
Fields.

Mr. Brewer presented the memorial of W. H. Farquhar,
and 14 others, citizens of Montgomery county, praying the
passage of an Act providing that the County Commissioners
shall appoint but one Collector of Taxes for said county, pro-
viding a salary for him; and relating to the payment of taxes
in said county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Brewer, Lee and
Knight.
