Mr. Duke, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to prevent the increase of gates
on the public roads ot Calvert county.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Getty from a Select Committee, reported favorably.

Senate bill entitled an Act relating to J ustices of the Peace
in and for Garrett county.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Newcomer from a Select Committee, reported favora-
bly.

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Washington county, to fund certain indebted-
ness of the Board of County School Commissioners of Wash-
ington county, by issuing bonds therefor, and to levy a tax
for the payment of the same.

Being upon its first reading,

Mr. Bannon moved to refer said bill to the Committee on
Education.

Which was decided in the negative.

Said bill was then read the first time.

At 12.35 P. M.

Mr, Brewer moved a call of the Senate.

The Sergeant-at-Arms proceeded to notify the absent Sen-
ators that their presence was required in the Senate Cham-
ber.

At 12.40 P. M.

On motion of Mr. Brewer further proceedings under
the call were dispensed with.

Mr. Hepbron from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to protect fish and wild fowl in
certain of the waters of Kent county.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Walsh from Committee on Finance, reported favora-
bly,

Senate bill entitled an Act for the promotion of Agriculture
and the Mechanical aud Household Arts in Harford, Howard
and Kent counties.

With the following amendments:

Insert Wicomico and Somerset counties.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Suit moved to add Prince George's county.

Which was adopted.
