Proceedings of yesterday read and approved.
Mr. McCulloh presented the memorial of Albert Holic,
Sr., John C. Weis, J. D. Armstrong, Nathan S.Frost,
Adam Kitchens and Dr. C. H. Getzendanner and 460 others,
citizens of the coal region of Maryland, in favor of the
formation of a new county of the adjacent parts of Allegany
and Garrett counties.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings.
On motion by Mr. Dennis,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments Sections 39, 40, 41, 43,44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 61,
52, 53, 58, 59, 60, 61, 64, 65 and 69, of Article 47, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Inheritance."
On motion by Mr. Getty,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to intro-
duce a bill for the relief of Mary Ann Disney, widow of
Richard Disney, a soldier in the war of 1812.
On motion by Mr. Steiner,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to intro-
duce a bill, placing the name of Maria Barton, of Allegany
county, the widow of a soldier of the war of 1812, upon the
pension list ol the State.
Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act to suppress the nuisance of
travelling vagrants and beggars, commonly called "tramps."
Which was read the first time.
Also,
Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the proper repre-
sentation of the State of Maryland at the celebration of the
one-hundredth anniversary of American Independence.
Which was read the first time.
