Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Article 28, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Commissioners," sub-
title "Meridian Line Standard," and re-enat the same with
amendments.

Being on its second reading,

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendments :

After the word "repeal," in the title insert "sections 109,
110, 111, 112 and 113 of."

And in section 1 after the word "that" in line 1 insert
"sections 109, 110, 111, 112 and 113 of."

Which were adopted.

Mr. Brewer submitted the following :

Amend by filling first blank with the word "fifty," second
blank with the words "five hundred."
Which was adopted.
Said hill as amended was then read the second time, and

On motion of Mr. Bannon,
Was referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

Senate bill entitled an Act authorizing the State Librarian
to furnish for the use of the Circuit Court of Wicomico
county, a full set of the decisions of the Court of Appeals,
and the Acts of Assembly and other books.

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act for the promotion of Agriculture
and the Mechanical and Household Arts in Harford, Howard
and Kent counties,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Hon. R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, appeared and
delivered the following communication from the Executive :

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,
Annapolis, February 1st, 1876.
To the Senate :

I have the honor to inform your Honorable Body that I
have approved and signed Senate bill No 1, being an Act to
authorize the Governor to convey a portion of the Hay
Scales Lot. in the City of Baltimore, to the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore.

And Senate bill No. 2, being an Act to authorise the Court
of Appeals to hear the appeal of the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore, and James M. Anderson, Collector against the
