Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

Mr. Walsh presented the memorial of George Anderson
and others, citizens of Harford county, praying the passage
of au Act to prohibit non-residents fishing within the waters
of the State with drift or stake nets.

Which was read and referred to Committee on the Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Stevens presented the memorial of the Baltimore Eye
and Ear Institute of Baltimore.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
Mr. Stevens presented the memorial of 875 citizens of Bal-
timore, praying the repeal of the Attachment Law of 1874.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

On motion by Mr. Brewer, it was

Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
be directed to pay to the Postmaster of the Senate, the sum
of thirty-seven dollars for postage stamps furnished for the
use of the Senate at the beginning of the Session.

On motion by Mr. Newcomer.

Leave was granted to Messrs. Newcomer, Freeman and
Duke, to introduce a bill authorizing the Commissioners of
Washington county, to issue Bonds for funding School
Debts.

On motion by Mr. Lawrence,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Lawrence, Ford and Hep-
bron, to introduce a bill to protect Insectivorous Birds, in St.
Mary's county.

On motion by Mr. Steiner,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Steiner, Humphries and
Dennis, to introduce a bill entitled an Act to require the
