Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 19, of Article

61, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Mechanics'
Lien,"

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 30, of the

Code of Public General Laws, by inserting therein certain
Sections, for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

Being upon its second reading,
On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Was ordered to lie over.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act to add new
Sections to Article 51, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Justices of the Peace," relating to the liens of execu-
tions issued by Justices of the Peace, passed March 30th,
1868, chapter 443, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate Wil entitled an Act to provide for the opening and
extension of Camden street, in the City of Baltimore.

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Stevens summitted the following amendment:

After the word "Camden street," wherever it occurs in the
bill and title of the bill, insert the words "or Conway
street."

Which was adopted.

Said bill as amended, was then read the second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The President laid before the Senate certain evidence in
the contested election case of Wilson vs. Duke.

Which was referred to the Committee on Elections.

Mr. Aydelotte submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

January 31st, 1876.
'Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We propose with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
that the Standing Committees of the two Houses upon the
subject of Education, shall meet hereafter in Joint Session.

AUGUSTUS GAISAWAY,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the House of
Delegates.
