Senate bill entitled an Act to enable the qualified voters of
Caroline county, to determine by ballot whether spirituous
liquors shall be sold in said county, or in any election dis-
tricts thereof, or a license granted for the sale of the same,
Was read a first time and referred to Messrs. Culbreth,
Goldsborough and Boyer.
Also,
Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
Governor to appoint an additional Justice of the Peace in
Cavetown District, in Washington county,
Was read a first time and re erred to the Washington
county delegation.
Also,
Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments, certain Sections of the Acts of 1872 and 1874,
relating to the time for holding the terms of the Circuit Court
for Garrett county,
Was read a first time and referred to Messrs. Barnard,
Browning and Sprigg.
Also,
House bill entitled an Act to pay and compensate D. James
Blaekeston, for services in the United States Court, in de-
fence of Officers of Registration, and presented therein for
violation, as alleged, of the Act of Congress entitled an Act
to enforce the rights of citizens of the United States, to vote
in the several States of the Union, and for other purposes,
Was read a first time and referred to the Committee on
Claims.
Also,
House bill entitled an Act, to repeal and re-enact with
amendments, Section of Article 69, of the Code of Public
General Laws, title "Officers," relating to the publication of
lists of defaulting officers.
Was read a first time and referred to the Committee on
the Judiciary.
Also,
House bill entitled an Act to authorize A. E. Brownington,
to settle her accounts as guardian, with P. Brownington, a
minor,
Was read a first time and referred to the Committee on
the Judiciary.
