Mr. Rutledge submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the Speaker appoint a competent Reading
Clerk, until the Reading Clerk, who is now acting Chief
Clerk, can resume his duties, to be paid at the rate now paid
Reading Clerk, while he may be so employed.
Which was laid on the table under the rule.
Mr. Bird submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
pay Mr. Gwynn, Chairman of Select Committee, to visit
Baltimore, regarding the site for a Tobacco Warehouse, the
sum of $19.
Which was laid over under the rule.
On motion of Mr. Berkemeier,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to add an additional Section to Article 26 of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Corporations."
On motion of Mr. Lambdin,
Leave was granted to the Dorchester delegation to intro-
duce a bill to add additional Sections to Article 10 of Public
Local Laws for Dorchester county, relating to the County
Commisioners for said county, passed at January Session,
1870, chapter 449, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.
On motion of Mr. Lancaster,
Leave was granted to the Select Committee on Temperance
to introduce a bill to prohibit the manufacture or sale of
adulterated, spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer in
his State.
On motion of Mr. Lambdin,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill to require the Comptroller of the Treas-
ury to issue his warrant on the Treasurer to pay each mer-
chant and hotel keeper in Dorchester and Caroline counties
the amount of money paid for license to sell liquor in 1874,
for which they were debarred the use of by the passage of the
Local Option Law in that county.
