The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 67, of the
Public General Laws of this State, title Notaries Public, by
repealing the 1st Section thereof, and re-enacting the said
Section with amendments, increasing the number of Notaries
Public in the City of Baltimore, and by adding the said Ar-
ticle and additional Section, giving Notaries Public power to
take the acknowledgments of deeds, bills of sales and mort-
gages, or other writings required to be recorded, and to ad-
minster any oaths or affirmations required by law to be made
to, or concerning the same.
The question being on the motion of Mr. McGlone,
To substitute the bill for the unfavorable report,
The motion was lost.
