So the amendment was rejected.
Mr. Waters, of Dor., moved to add to Section 2, "two
thousand dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary,
are hereby appropriated for the purpose of purchasing the in-
terest of the stockholders in the Maryland Agricultural Col-
lege, to be expended by the Governor, Comptroller and
Treasurer."

The Secretary of the Senate returned
House bill entitled an Act to authorize the bequest of Geo,
W. Johnson, to the German Lutheran Evangelical Saint
Matthew's Congregation of Baltimore.

Section 1, line 2, strike out the word "lease," and insert
the word "sanction."
