Said bill was then returned to the Senate.
The Senate bill entitled an Act to prevent stock running
at large in Baltimore county, within 15 miles from Baltimore
city,
Was read a second time.
Mr. Smith, of Baltimore county, proposed the following
amendment:
Section 1, line 4, strike out "15," and insert "4."
Mr. Whitelock then offered the following amendment:
Amend by striking out "15 miles," and insert "5 miles,"
The question being upon the passage of the amendment,
It was rejected.
Mr. Stewart offered the following amendment:
In line 3, after the words "distance of," insert "100
miles,"
The question being upon the adoption of the amendment..
Mr. Stewart called the yeas and nays.
