Baltimore county to issue bonds of said county, for the pur-
pose of retiring the indebtedness of said county.
On motion of Mr. Curtis,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill to repeal Section 2, of chapter 2, of an Act
passed at January Session, 1872, chapter 337, entitled an Act
to repeal an Act passed January Session, 1870, entitled an
Act to repeal an Act passed at January Session, 1868, enti-
tled "Public Education/' &c., in so far as the same relates
to Baltimore county, and to substitute in lieu of said Section
the following, to apply to Baltimore county, and to be ar-
ranged under Public Local Laws, title "Baltimore county,"
sub-title "Public Schools."
On motion of Mr. Scott,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Education to intro-
duce a bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 2 of chapter 2,
title "Formation of Boards," of chapter 377 of the Acts
passed at the January Session, of 1872, entitled an Act to
repeal an Act passed at the January Session, of 1870, enti-
tled an Act to repeal an Act passed at the January Session,
of 1868, entitled "Public Education," providing a general
system of free public schools for the State of Maryland, and
to repeal all laws inconsistent therewith, and to re-enact the
same with amendments, so far as the same relates to Wash-
ington county, and to enact a substitute therefor.

REPORT.
To the Honorable,
The Speaker of the House of Delegates :
The undersigned, the Committee on Militia, to whom as
referred the order offered on the 18th of January last, in
reference to the expenditures made by the present Adjutant
General, of the monies appropriated for the support of the
militia of this State, beg leave respectfully to report to you,
and through you to the HoUse of Delegates, that they have
carefully invejtigatea the charges referred to in said order,
and find that they are without foundation, and that said ap-
propriations have been faithfully and economically expended,,
except so far as they have been applied to aiding regiments-
in encamping beyond the borders of this State, which custom
they think should in the future be abandoned.
They would further report, that the charges also made,
that certain ordnance of the State had been disposed of
at a very inadequate price, and that excessively large
prices had been paid for the clothing of the militia of this
State, are not sustained. That the price which was received
