Mr. Robinson presented the petition of Captain William B.
Smith, Saml. C. Hanlon, R. N. Kilman, and 37 others, citi-
zens of Annapolis, asking for Local Option.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Temper-
ance.
Mr. Robinson presented the petition of John G. Taylor,
Robert Smith and Vachel Dadds, and other citizens of Anne
Arundel county, asking for Local Option.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Temper-
ance.
Mr. Boyle presented the petition of John T. Spicer and
others, praying for a law for the better regulation of collecting
taxes in Harford county.
Which was read and referred to the Harford delegation.
Mr. Boyle presented the petition of James H. Michael and
others, praying for a law for the better regulation of collec-
ting taxes in Harford county.
Which was read and referred to lite Harford delegation.
Mr. Naill presented the memorial of Geo. W. Melvin, of
Baltimore city, complaining of conduct of the Board of Ex-
aminers of Pilots; &c.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries.
Mr. Hess presented the petition for settlement of claims
against Tobacco Warehouse No. 2.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.
Mr. Rinehart presented the petition from E. S. Stouffer,
Wm. A. Cunningham, and many others, citizens of Carroll
county, for an Act permitting contracts in writing for use of
money agreed upon between borrower and lender, but in ab-
sence of contract to remain at 6 per cent.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
Mr. Usilton presented the petition of John T. Skriven, John
T. Nicholson and numerous other citizens of Kent county,
asking for a wholesale market for fruits, oysters, fish and
vegetables.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

The bill entitled an Act for the protection of partridges
and rabbits, and to prevent trespassing with dog or gnn on
private property in Kent and Queen Anne's counties, with the
