Mr. Vandiver submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out the word "four" before the word "school," and
insert "six."
Which was rejected.
Mr. Given submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Line 14, strike out the word "four" before the words "thou-
sand Oyster Police Reports," and insert "two."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Scott submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 3. Strike out all between the world "contract" in
line 9, and the word "bidder" in line 10, and insert before
the word "bidder" in line 10, to the words, "to the lowest."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Donaldson submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Add after line 4, of Section 2, the words, "and such bid-
der or bidders shall, with his or their proposal, file a bond
with a surety or sureties in the penal sum hereinafter pro-
vided for, to be approved by the Governor, Comptroller and
Treasurer, in the event of the contract being awarded to the
said bidder or bidders, that the said bidder or bidders will
abide by his or their contract."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Scott submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Sections. Amend by inserting between the word "bids,"
and "for" in line 6, the words "additional to those already re-
ceived."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Donaldson submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 4. Substitute, "and be it enacted that the bond
herein provided for; shall be taken in the name of the State
for $50,000, and no bid shall be received unless accompanied
by such bond, and no contract shall be awarded until such
bond have been approved, and if the bond of the lowest bid-
der or bidders be not approved as herein provided, then such
shall not be entertained, and the Governor, Comptroller and
Treasurer shall award the contract; as if such bid had not
been made.
