The bill Entitled an Act to protect game and birds in
Washington county,
Being upon its second reading,
Mr. Scott submitted the following amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out all under Section 2, and insert: "Be it enacted,
That it shall not be lawful for any person or persons to sell or
attempt to sell, any pheasants,partridges wild turkeys, squir-
rels or rabbits at any season of the year that may have been
entrapped or shot in Washington county, under a penalty of
ten dollars for each and every offence, nor shall it be lawful
for any one to ship or attempt to ship, for the purpose of
selling elsewhere, any pheasant, partridge, wild turkey,
squirrel or rabbit into another county or State, under a pen-
alty of twenty-five dollars for each and every offence."
Amend Section 4, by inserting between worJs "in" and
"this" in line 2, the "the first Section of."
And in line 2, between words "destroyed" and "shall,"
insert "or the possession by any Express or Transportation
Company of any pheasant, partridge, wild turkey, squirrel or
rabit."
Amend Section 5, line 7, by striking out "ten," and in-
serting "not less than ten nor more than thirty days."
Which were severally read and adopted,
And the bill, as amended, read a second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.
The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1874,
chapter 338, entitled an Act for the Taxation of Dogs in
Montgomery county,
Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as
