Mr. Rusk submitted the following message :
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
January 14th, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate.
We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
to procede to the election of State Treasurer in accordance
with the message of your Honorable Body, acceded to by
this House.
We have nominated on the part of this House, ——————
Which was read.
Mr. Neal nominated Hon. Barnes Compton of Charles
county,
Mr. Hawkins nominated Hon. George C. Merrick of Prince
George's county.
The blank in the message was then filled with the names
of Messrs. Barnes Compton and George C. Merrick.
