The question recurring upon the amendment submitted by
Mr. Chaisty,
It was rejected.
Mr. Hoblitzell submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, line 16, strike out all after word "Compound,"
and insert, ' 'prepared and compounded for medicinal use by
wholesale dealers in drugs and medicines when sold in the
original package, box or bottle, and no penalty shall here-
after be enforced against any person for the sale of patent or
proprietary medicines or compounds prepared by wholesale
dealers in drugs and medicines when sold as aforesaid."
Which was adopted.
The bill, as amended, was then read a second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
The bill entittled an Act to appropriate $7,000, or so much
thereof as may be necessary for the purchasing of a suitable
lot, and the erection thereon of scales adapted to the weigh-
ing of hay, straw and live stock,.

On motion of Mr. Hoblitzell,
Referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.
Mr. Clark moved that the House do now adjourn,
Decided in the negative.
The Senate bill entitled an Act to regulate the sale of
Firewood in the City of Baltimore, for the better protection
of the produce dealer and consumer,
Was read a third time, and rejected by yeas and nays, for
for want of a Constitutional majority, as follows:
