On motion of Mr. Loane,
The House then proceeded to the consideration of
The bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed
at the January Session, 1868, chapter 334, approved March
30th, 1868, entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Cum-
berland and Pennsylvania Railroad Company, passed at the
January Session, 1849, chapter 469, and to further repeal
and amend said last named Act.
Said bill being upon a second reading,
Mr. Donaldson submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, strike out all that part of said Section, lines 30
to 38 of the printed bill, commencing with the words "and
provided further," in line 30, and ending with the word
^Maryland," in line 38, and also all that part of said Section
lines 48 to 52 of the printed bill, commencing with the word
"except," in line 48, and ending with the word "provided,"
in line 52.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Brooke submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, strike out the word "five" where it occurs in lines-
21, 23, 28 and 30, and substituting the word "four" in each
of said lines.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Loane submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, insert after the word "coal," in each of lines 15,
19 and 27 of the printed bill the words "and fire brick."
